What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and from which countries. It uses cookies and collects your IP address (anonymised by Google), browser and device type, pages visited and time on page. Google’s handling of this data is described in Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Email. When you write to us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we delete them when the conversation is over.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Xserver Inc., Japan) keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security, for a limited period.
Affiliate and referral links
Some links lead to services that pay us a commission or points when you sign up or buy. Those services may set their own cookies once you arrive on their site, under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your personal data from them; we only see aggregate counts.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal data.
- We do not run advertising networks that profile you.
- We do not require an account to read anything on this site.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to hq@saveinjapan.blog. We handle personal data in line with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
